Increasing College Access & Success
CforC has supported college visits and supported the US launch of The Brilliant Club, an award winning non-profit organisation in the United Kingdon, that works to expand access to top universities for at-risk students.
For the Class of 2015, all 239 Eastern seniors who have the ability to graduate have applied to at least one college, producing 1,442 total applications.
Georgetown University’s Center on Education and the Workforce predicts that by 2018, the U.S. economy will create 47 million job openings – nearly two-thirds of which will require workers with at least some post-secondary education.
Here is how you can help.
Send every student on a college visit. Our goal is to ensure every 9th and 10th grade student at Eastern takes part in at least one college trip and, for upperclassmen, we support targeted college trips to help students select the university that is right for them.
Estimated cost: $10,000 annually.
Support college prep. Through innovative programs, like the Brilliant Club, we provide students with tutoring to prepare them for them for success in college. We also support SAT prep and financial aid and college admissions seminars.
Estimated cost: $5,000 annually.
You and your staff can help tutor and mentor students, making a difference in as little as one hour per week.
