Exposing Students to S.T.E.M.

Rocketry Clubs.

Our Role.

In 2014, CforC supported Rocketry Clubs at Eastern Senior High School and Eliot-Hine Middle School.

Through our sponsorship of the clubs, CforC provides for the comprehensive funding of the clubs, including trips to launch sites outside of the District of Columbia. We also work with the Aeronautics Industry Association to expose club participants to additional enrichment and career opportunities in S.T.E.M. fields.

In School Year 2015/16, we're excited to announce a new partnership with the Washington Space Business Roundtable's (WSBR) Education Committee to support Rocketry Clubs at four schools in the Eastern Community.

Our Impact.

The president of the Eastern Rocketry club was selected to visit the White House for the national STEM expo and to participate in a STEP Afrika cultural exchange program due to his involvement in the rocketry club.

During the next decade, the United States demand for scientists and engineers is expected to increase at four times the rate for all other occupations.

Here is how you can help.

Invest.

Support STEM enrichment. CforC works with school leaders to create and expand learning opportunities during the school day and through after-school programming. Our focus has been on space science / rocketry, robotics, computer coding and environmental sciences.

Estimated cost: Varies based on school and program needs.
